Luke's 1st Birthday!

I just wanted to share some photos from Luke's 1st Birthday!! We had a little dinner for him on his actual birthday, but celebrated with all our family and friends the following weekend. We did a "classic pick up truck" theme, which turned out to be pretty cute!

One of my favorite parts of the day, is waking up to this smiling face every morning.
And on his birthday, it was even more exciting!

Then we did our last monthly sticker photo shoot, which was bittersweet,
and probably the hardest one yet...the kid just won't sit still!

We had a nice quiet dinner at home on his actual birthday, complete with chicken tacos and cake and ice cream. I wish I had it on video, but watching Luke while we sang "Happy Birthday" to him was the sweetest moment ever. He just loved it!

It was a fun night..but now onto the big party!
I found an adorable invitation fitting our theme on Etsy by Three Little Monkeys Studio
I printed them myself which was so easy, and they turned out great!

I saw these high chair banners, so of course I had to try to make one on my own. I think it looked great, but it was definitely not easy to attach to that high chair!

I made some cute pendant banners out of card stock and scrapbooking paper too, but the cutest thing of all, was the smash cake that my sister Gina and I made for Luke!
For not being professionals (at all), I thought we did a pretty good job :)

I found a ridiculously overpriced but adorable t-shirt for Luke on Etsy, that I just couldn't resist. It had a tiny little pick up truck on it, and it said 'one'. How could I not?
It was just a t-shirt though, so we classed it up with a bow tie for the occasion :)

I got a little carried away with making some last minute photo collages (you don't want to know how many pictures I half-assedly (is that a word?) threw together the night before the party).
They were cute though!

And finally, here are some shots of the cake smash. Of course Luke wouldn't take his usual morning nap, so come time for cake, he was pretty sleepy and grumpy,
but he loved the sink bath that followed :). I did have to rely on photos others took since I was holding Luke's hand away from the candle..I'm pretty sure he would eat fire if I let him!

Thanks to all of our family and friends who celebrated with us and helped us make it a great day! As soon as I get the photos from Luke's One Year Photoshoot, I'll post them too, because our photographer just does such an amazing job and they turned out too cute to not share :). Also, though most of the food is not pictured, I'll be posting the menu to my Party page, so check it out for some great recipes!

With Soooo Much Love and Appreciation,

Claudia
